Domenica Davies, affectionately known as "Mimma," is an author who is passionate about honouring the stories of those who shaped her life, family and community.

She captures extraordinary characters, not necessarily those known to history books, but rather beloved figures closer to home and closer to her heart. Beyond her own experience and family history, these stories also paint a portrait of Australian life and culture.

Mimma’s journey as an author began with a desire to preserve the voices and experiences of her loved ones. Her debut book, Nicolina’s Story: A Woman of the Land, tells the unforgettable tale of her mother, Nicolina, a woman of immense strength and courage who faced life’s harshest challenges to provide a better future for her children.

In Harold’s Way: An Ordered Australian Life - It’s a Corker! Mimma honours the life of her father-in-law, Harold Reginald Davies, a man whose generosity and progressive spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Through this book, readers are invited to explore Harold’s unique approach to life, filled with warmth, loyalty, and a profound sense of community.

Echoes of Sicily: Words of Wisdom from the World of papaNino immortalises a diverse collection of sayings and advice passed down from Mimma’s father, Nino, capturing his remarkable character and reflecting the essence of Sicilian culture.
